And what a lot of quote tweets don't realize, I am the best of a bad situation. To even tell my story is a privilege. The machinations of this system were supposed to kill me. Every living homeless person ex or not, is a snowflake that didn't melt on your tongue
People talking about the "ease" of library access when the people who need those resources the most (impoverished and/or homeless) are the people who get shooed away the most lol. Y'all are so unserious
You cannot get a library card without a state license. And those are just a few of the logistical obstacles that don't include straight up discrimination from people who think lowly of homeless people
When I was homeless, I broke my ID. I couldn't get another one bc it required sending the new copy to the apartment I was evicted from. And the DMV required proof of housing I didn't have. The desk worker I gave my letter from my shelter manager, she threw it away in front of me
