With LCBO workers now on strike, let's take stock. Ontario generated ~$2.5 billion from the LCBO in 2023. That revenue helps support services like schools and hospitals (or a spa parking garage, I guess). We will lose much of that - for more expensive product. 1/2 #onpoli

What they are actually doing is moving a provincially mandated PD day to the 8th so kids don’t have to go home in the dark. FYI that’s a day YOU mandate kids are at home for teacher PD. Agree or disagree with that decision, but nobody is closing schools. And you know it.

They are not closing schools Stephen they are just shuffling the P.A. Day! Do you even remember what portfolio you are to manage? I didn't think so! #CorruptAF #NeverVoteStephenLecce

All educators need to fully enjoy their holidays. Few people know tired like educators. Research found that teachers make more minute-by-minute decisions than brain surgeons, & if that's not tiring enough, remember the decisions are with a classroom full of students. Exhausting!

What!!! All the bribes that the ministry of EDUCATION paid out with no accountability that the money be spent on EDUCATION might have been a problem... I am shocked... @Sflecce #onted #FordCorruption #ontpoli

It didn't have to be that hard. You could have consulted with educators on education matters. You also could have refrained from using the notwithstanding clause. If it was hard for your staff, it's because of your own actions and decisions.

Monday morning #onted thought. Many education workers have been working 7 months without a contract. Why is it that education workers and nurses are consistently fighting for fair and timely negotiations? 🤔

Canada’s healthcare system is collapsing due to a dire shortage of health workers. Lack of investment in primary care, home care & long-term care. And an ongoing pandemic. Can someone please tell me how more for-profit healthcare will help any of these problems?

I don’t know who needs to hear this but Neil Diamond, who retired from performing five years ago because of Parkinsons, just had a Broadway show of him open and it at the opening night he did this

School boards have a duty of care and a commitment to equity and inclusion that naturally require them to have Covid protections, including masks, in place right now. Thank you @HWDSB for taking a step in the right direction. Hopefully other boards will follow! #UrgencyOfSafety
