A few people have asked me about the titles of my novels on Amazon Kindle- they are 'Learning to Hug Again' and 'Friends in the Lakes'. Both set in the Derwentwater area and both can be read on any device via the Amazon cloud reader. Only £3 each! #KindleBooks #LakeDistrict
Once more, thanks @simon_reeve for a fascinating 3rd instalment of his Lakes programme I've just seen on BBC2. Just as last week, this was an incredibly in-depth study of everything going on beneath the surface! The Honister slate mine, the Sellafield operation and so much more.
Just got back from 2 days in Canterbury-what an amazing City. We stayed in the hotel in the grounds of the Cathedral itself, and our room had a view of the Cathedral! Waking up in the morning to see the south side lit up by the morning sun was surreal! Highly recommended. 😊
I can see why, Sue. It's not just the perfect angelic pose of the swan, but the colourful rich tapestry of the background- all those umbers, and ochres, and russets, contrasting with that emerald green on the left picked out by the shaft of sunlight! A must-see at full screen.😍
Of all the photos I have taken today this is my favourite #BushyPark 22.11.24 @theroyalparks @Natures_Voice @WildLondon @SurreysWildlife @TLTeddington @Teddington_Town @SallyWeather @itvlondon @Swan_Sanctuary @TWmagazines @Visit_Richmond1
Wow! I come up to Cromer from Essex a lot, but I've never seen it quite like that- thanks for posting this! 😳❄️🌨️☃️

Oh wow! This has an amazing quality- no wonder it won the competition! It has that ethereal, magical, mystical quality. The lyrics of the song would have been different if the writers saw this- 'Like a Bridge over Mystical Water'. (There's no trouble here) 😍
🎉 I’m delighted to say that my photograph of Padley Gorge has won the Public Choice Award in the National Parks UK Photography Competition 2024! I’m very honoured to be flying the flag for my beloved #peakdistrict and sharing its beauty, and I’m so grateful to all who voted.
So funny, James. The book just behind is Milne's 'The House At Pooh Corner'- that scared the sh*t out of me! Turns out it was a premonition of our modern day sewage crisis. Then there's 'The Badger on the Barge' just below-seriously dystopian fable-that! Some scary shit, there.😬
Unearthed at a second-hand book store. This is the paperback edition I read as a naive ‘80s child; just seeing that cover again after all these years disturbed me, let alone thinking about the bunny blood & murderous content.
First supermoon of 2024, so beautifully framed by the illuminated Tower Bridge! 🌝
This years first Super Moon back in August 🌕 Look out for the next one tomorrow on 15 November 🔭 Beautifully captured by the_yukistar on IG
Bloody hell, epic is the word for this at full screen, Stuart! I understand Wastwater is the deepest lake, and when conditions are just right, it can produce the most perfect mirrored surface. 🤩🪞🪩 Those stratified colours are epic indeed!
I was also at Wastwater last night where after a spell of diffused light a bit broke through in the nick of time. A monster pano that will be up in the gallery on Friday, to get the perspective/scale this is 27(!!) frames at 170mm. Bobbins on a mobile but print should be epic
It's so beautiful to see how this animal makes itself comfortable for bed. What a lovely film! 😊🍁🍂
The nights are getting shorter & this weasel is ready for bed🐾🍂
This is truly beautiful, Lee. I tried reading it out loud, and as I did, I saw in my mind's eye, a vision of battlefields now swathed in poppies, with grass moving in waves in gentle breezes. You should submit this to the BBC for them to play this on remembrance day. 🥰
My latest #poem is inspired by the upcoming commemorations where we should remember the fallen and the sacrifices they made for all of us. @PoppyLegion
Wonderful study of this bridge, Andrew. As I said in response to your previous post, the most fanciful bridge to a land of our greatest imaginations! And 17th Century as well! 😊Glorious pictures at full screen really do it justice.
Four more of 17th century Slater Bridge, which is in two sections - a long slate slab and a traditional packhorse bridge: andrewswalks.co.uk/slater-bridge.…
