I'll keep writing my stories. Even though they're dark and explore the ugly side of humanity, there are always glimmers of hope and love to find against the backdrop of anger and pain. Words have power. Words can save. Words can imbue hope. I will do what I can as a writer.

I don’t get too political on my public facing account for a number of reasons, but if you are celebrating today, know that I am not with you. I am heartbroken, disgusted and ashamed—when in reality, it should be you feeling this way.
I’m sick. The darkest cloud has been raised over us, especially BIPOC, immigrants, trans, LGBTQ+, women, and disabled people. To the world (Palestine, the Congo, Sudan, +) we are so sorry, we have failed you. This is not the end. We’re going to continue advocating & pushing.
We focus on what we can keep impacting for the better. In publishing, it’s fighting like hell for greater diversity at all levels. That doesn’t change no matter who is president. If we can continue to impact that in positive ways, this is a huge win 💛
all i can say is live. you have to live. if you’re trans, queer, a woman, bipoc, disabled, an immigrant: you must live. we have to support each other. we have to be visible and loud if and when we can. and above all else we have to live
