Listen to the @RMTunion and @ASLEFunion members who work on our railways, and scrap peak fares for good

Can’t help but feel further insulted by the @scotgov seeing this. 28 days strike(+) @EISFela took to end up with considerably less than Teachers over 3 years; + 4.14% in year 4 (which was supposedly restorative).

New: A new pay offer of 4.27 per cent has been made to Scottish teaching unions tes.com/magazine/news/…

It is a shameful statement that you have failed to negotiate on time for 10 years!!!!!

Mark Hetherington Reposted

I think you'll find this is absolutely your doing in the past for never negotiating in good faith and on time! Shame on you for bragging that you've finally done your job on time this year.

Mark Hetherington Reposted

More bizarre rhetoric here👇🏻. Why did you he not resolve the FE debacle earlier. Evidently doesn’t care about the sector. At all. And I’m still waiting for an explanation as to why we are not worth the same as teachers?? @EISFela #fightforFE @NCL_EIS_FELA

🌍 Pleased to contribute to #SNP24 on international affairs. ❌ We reject the hostile rhetoric of the UK Government towards international students. 👨‍🎓 @theSNP Government’s message is clear: we want international students to come here, to study here and to stay here.

I'm not entirely sure we won. We took the original offer and a further 2k to lose 26 days of wages.

Mark Hetherington Reposted

In their 17yrs in charge @theSNP have cut Further Education to the bone! Courses cut, delivery hours cut, support jobs cut, lecturer jobs cut, the only things that have increased are class sizes, support needs & workload! Our communities deserve better! It’s time for change!

Mark Hetherington Reposted

It's hard to believe any public sector workers in Scotland would have 27 days of strike action to fight for fair pay. Yet the offer on the table to us is far from equitable with our teacher colleagues, in fact we will end up thousands of pounds below. Don't forget to vote.

I will not be accepting anything that does not give us parity with teachers this year. No year 4 nonsense unless restorative now and a decent offer for year 4. Otherwise it’s a NO from me. Not gone through all this for anything less @EISFela

Mark Hetherington Reposted

It’s taken 2 years of turmoil, 29 days of strikes last term, a willingness to strike for at least 14 days this term and lecturers showing they’re prepared to lose their entire salaries, INDEFINITELY, for CES and ScotGov to act. What does this tell us about the future for FE❓

Mark Hetherington Reposted

I u Der stand it too. I would just caution any @EISFela member who is not happy to give it serious thought. Once accepted that’s it until 2026. There has just been announcement of a 10% rise in energy cap come October. We deserve better.

Mark Hetherington Reposted

You couldn’t make this up. Given that my FE employer will be withholding 100% of my pay, indefinitely, starting tomorrow, and will be including Saturdays and Sundays in their deductions, ScotGov’s Fair Work Action Plan commits to Scotland being a leading Fair Work nation by 2025!

Mark Hetherington Reposted

Remember, at least £1000 of the year 4 offer should have been restorative pay, to account for the abysmal 2020-24 offer. To allow CES to rectify this, it’s the sole reason THE DEAL WAS EXTENDED OVER A FOUR YEAR PERIOD We are being asked to accept a pay uplift for 2025 of 2.07%‼️

No from me too ✊

I fully agree. We did not fight this hard to accept a pay cut, again! This offer must be rejected. We've lived on a 2021 salary in the worst cost of living crisis in a generation. There is little to no restorative pay in the 'offer'.

REJECTED

Mark Hetherington Reposted

And an insulting offer it is too. Just been a 10% increase in energy price cap announced and the best you can do is 4.14% for year 4. NO from me. Urge @EISFela members to reject.

Mark Hetherington Reposted

@EISFela members, think carefully before voting on this pay deal. We lost pay for strike days in 22/23 & lost 8 days pay in 23/24 before universal hardship kicked in. This pay deal across 4 years is 16%. Teachers received 14.5% for 2 years. We are worth more. REJECT the offer.

And an insulting offer it is too. I would urge all @EISFela members to vote no. Remember there’s no more until 2026! Today’s announcement of 10% energy price cap increase should give you pause for thought.

A drug emergency was declared 5 years ago and the result is Figures are worse. The SNP have let the country down big time

Mark Hetherington Reposted

With ‘deeming’ being called out as abhorrent by all political parties represented in Holyrood, and the ScotGov finally seeing sense and ordering a halt to this despicable act, CES are in disarray. We deserve a Fair Work pay rise & the restoration payment. We now hold the power✊
