If you're on a Mac, a designer, and are serious about colours, then check out this new release from the fine folks at @bjango bjango.com/mac/pinwheel/

If you're in Australia and following EV/solar/battery news then I highly recommend Sam Bendat's free newsletter. Practical, lots of real-world calculations: solvingzero.com/newsletter/art… @simonhackett Perhaps you could give this a plug?

OpenAI is cleverly placing a Trojan horse in every OS. Just like Google Chrome became the ‘OS within the OS,’ ChatGPT will soon become the ultimate manager of your digital work, assets, and interactions, turning the platform itself into a mere commodity. As Andrej Karpathy once…

ChatGPT 🤝 VS Code, Xcode, Terminal, iTerm2 ChatGPT for macOS can now work with apps on your desktop. In this early beta for Plus and Team users, you can let ChatGPT look at coding apps to provide better answers.

Check out this 2014 interface experiment on eye-gaze👀+ multitouch🖐️, featured in my recent talks about the origins of Gaze + Pinch in VR. It combines finger chording with gaze-based target selection for some seriously smooth, fast-paced sorting⚡ From: t.ly/xRgdi

Teach robots how to manipulate an object via 3D/4D reconstruction🧑🏻‍🏫! Will be presented at CoRL 2024 as an oral presentation.

Robot See, Robot Do allows you to teach a robot articulated manipulation with just your hands and a phone! RSRD imitates from 1) an object scan and 2) a human demonstration video, reconstructing 3D motion to plan a robot trajectory. robot-see-robot-do.github.io #CoRL2024 (Oral)

This is pure evil. You cannot call it anything else. There is no way to justify cheering on the massacres, bombardments, and destruction of Gaza. To cheer on war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide is to teach hatred. This is what ethnonationalism is. Its true face.

So they’re offering boat tours in Israel off the coast of Gaza to watch it get bombed and to see the place where they plan to build new settlements?

Some Gaussian Splatting renders of an abandoned coiffeur shop somewhere in France. I have a few ideas to improve the results but overall already happy with the results. YT for 4k : youtu.be/ScVlLeIjiVE?fe… #postshot #GaussianSplatting

How have I never noticed that macOS' menu bar "shares" space between menu items for the hover state? I don't think I've ever seen this before. Normally I'd expect each item to have its own reserved space for the hover state.

I was today years old when I learned that while (on macOS) single-click-and-drag will use character granularity for selection, DOUBLE-click-and-drag will use word granularity for selection!
