Conservatives vote NO to including mental healthcare in Ontario’s universal healthcare plan. Mental healthcare IS healthcare. Shameful. To deny access to those who need mental health supports urgently. This government is failing to deliver the basics. #onpoli

I find both @mozthunderbird and extensions like Provider for Google Calendar very valuable. However, I am vexed by Provider "hijacking" invitations making me the organizer when I respond. I can manually control this feature, but wonder if @pkewisch could DM me? Thanks!

The Wilmot farmland grab is “ground zero” for farmers in Ontario. If this secretive plan can happen here, it can happen in your community. It needs to be investigated by the Auditor General. #onpoli cbc.ca/news/canada/ki…

Day 2 of the #Bill7 #ConstitutionalChallenge. Today, the crown presents their case defending the law. How you could ever support a law that disproportionately targets an elderly population with $400/day hospital charges to avoid being shipped off to a terrible #LTC is beyond me.

You didn’t think I’d miss this, did you? #Bill7 #STRIKEITDOWN

It seems plans to repair the Ontario Science Centre roof were well underway before the Ford government decided to close it instead. As @CdnArch notes, contrary to government spin, the new engineering report did NOT say the OSC needed to close canadianarchitect.com/ontario-scienc… #onpoli

The Ford government says they had to close the Ontario Science Centre because it's unsafe and too difficult to fix. But on May 9, 2024, a permit application was submitted to the City of Toronto for a “museum” at 770 Don Mills Road… ...to fix the roof.

NEW: The architectural firm that built the Ontario Science Centre releases a statement: “The government’s, recent decision to abruptly, rashly, and permanently close the OSC was a shock.” They are now offering their services pro bono.

I called the architectural firm that built the Ontario Science Centre — Moriyama Teshima — for comment. They have issued a statement supporting the current site. And they’re offering free consulting services to get roof repairs made and the Science Centre reopened.

What's happening to the Ontario Science Centre is a blatant political move to open the land to developers and create a reason for people to go the 🐂💩spa. There are no benefits for average Ontarians. More of #dougfordfailedontario helping his friends. #onpoli

We're literally funding these private, #ForProfit businesses to buy up real estate all across Ontario/Canada, and then what....choose NOT to keep their end of the care bargain up and decide to get out of dodge/sell the land for a huge profit instead? WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?!

ANOTHER Ontarian #ForProfit #LTC *choosing* to shut down/displace frail elders rather than use their millions in profits to make the necessary safety upgrades. 524 beds lost since 2022 alone. My past @TheAgenda talk hits home why we must stop funding #ForProfit #LTC in ON/🇨🇦👇🏻

The @TorontoStar has learned that yet another long-term care home in the city is closing its doors, bringing the number of lost LTC beds to more than 500 in just less than three years. Chartwell White Eagle in Parkdale is closing its doors in September: thestar.com/business/fifth…

While food banks are on the brink of collapse and cannot keep pace with the growing need in our communities - this government is handing over a billion dollars to corporations in order to put beer in corner stores one year earlier than it was already scheduled to happen. 1/2
