With Storm Jocelyn about the batter the city, it's worth remembering that this isn't the first Jocelyn to barrel into Glasgow. That honour goes to Bishop Jocelyn, who, in 1174, was confirmed as the fourth Bishop of Glasgow. Pic: The seal of Bishop Jocelyn

Indeed and alas we are wedded to that model in the UK

Car-dependent suburban sprawl is the most publicly expensive and publicly subsidized form of settlement or habitation in human history. #SuburbanSprawl

I made replicas including original Latin, and also a Scots, Gaelic and English versions to mark the 700th anniversary. Had to create a new font based on the original.

Tragic loss #secondcity

In case you didn't know the Victorian Gothic Christian Institute at 64-100 Bothwell Street. The building, a wedding-cake symphony in red sandstone, occupied the entire block between West Campbell Street and Blythswood Street.

An example of the wholesale erasing of our cultural heritage with redevelopment of town centres in the 60s to create bland covered malls #anytown and the loss of unique traditional Scottish architectural features

Bus fares in Glasgow are the most expensive of any British city. Reregulation of our buses through a regional franchise that is under public control will allow us to cap fares and set all routes and service levels. It's time to use the 2019 Transport Act powers and get it done.

How long does it take to work out bus fares in Glasgow aren’t fair?🚍💸⁉️ 2 ½ years on and we’re still waiting for @TranScotland to publish its #FairFaresReview promised on 20 August 2021🤷 What's happening @FionaHyslop?

Anyone with me here. One of the most depressing sights is seeing a device thrust in front of a child during a meal at a restaurant. What happened to nurturing through conversation and instilling the love of food and social eating. AARRRGH.
