The stated logic of campus presidents - that the protests were disruptive is endlessly mendacious. Nothing I have experienced has been more disruptive than the brutalization, arrest and leveling of charges against peaceful protesters - many of whom are 17-20 years old.

It is simply not true that the protests @utaustin were “an organized attempt to paralyze campus operations,” as a UT spokesman described them. As the @aaup chapter president says, the police were a more disruptive force than the protestors. And costly. ⬇️ statesman.com/story/news/edu…
