Come and see The Claras at Cecil Sharp House in the cosy basement bar . Tomorrow! Doors open at 7:30, singing starts at 7:45. Lots of time for floorspots too. Here's a taster youtube.com/watch?v=PYq-HP…

Lovely fragment of a singing by @JohnMcArts recorded at Sharp's in July of 2022 - sounds like a busy night from the strength of the chorus and the (almost endlless) round of applause!

1/ Today, #TradSongTues is seeking songs of the #MoonAndStars - Though not fully 'trad', here's the last verse of 'The Garland' (sung by me @sharpsfolkclub1 in July); Penned by Rochdale poet Edwin Waugh (1817–90; pronounced 'Woff'), it was set to music by Harry Boardman on...

We had a blinding set of floor singers last week. Bring your voice tomorrow - sing solo or join the chorus and help us blow the roof off again! efdss.org/whats-on/73-fo…

If you love joining in with a rousing chorus, having your heart broken by a trad ballad, singing or listening to songs of work, life and love - Sharp's is the place for you this Tuesday evening. efdss.org/whats-on/73-fo…

Autumn is here and it's time to sing about it - our theme night on Tuesday 24 September welcomes songs on the theme of Harvest Surf, Turf and Barleycorn - whatever that means to you. (If you can't fit your song into that theme, bring it along anyway.) folkandhoney.co.uk//sharps-folk-c…

We don't see The Kimberleys @the_kimberleys at Sharp's often enough, so we booked them for a whole evening. (Still plenty of time for floorspots too.) Get there early! folkandhoney.co.uk//the-kimberley…

Don't forget - all through August we'll be at our summer venue, MAP Cafe, 46 Grafton Road, Kentish Town NW5 3DU @mapstudiocafe mapstudiocafe.com/contact/

Three more Tuesdays @cecilsharphouse before we head to @mapstudiocafe for August. Two singers' nights sandwiching our guest night on 23 July, when three of our regular floorsingers take the stage as trio Rumpled Muslin. efdss.org/whats-on/73-fo…

Sharp's is CANCELLED this evening (Tues 9 July) as @cecilsharphouse has been forced to close at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

Great singing to come this Tuesday - powerful harmonies from four-piece a cappella group Sound Tradition at Sharp's Folk Club, Camden. efdss.org/whats-on/73-fo…

Sad, but not unexpected: John White of @sharpsfolkclub1 has died, aged 104. A lovely man and terrific advocate of collective singing. The ceiling lifted just that bit further when he led a chorus. Also a gleeful music hall performer: I can still see his 'Galloping Major'. Go well
