The latest Lara Croft was played by a former ballet dancer setting a precedent that Indy-Anna would also benefit from a similar skill set. So let this be my formal announcement that I, an irl ballerina archaeologist would happily volunteer to play this role.

This is incorrect and shows how little the average person knows about garment manufacturing. 🧵

Tea of the day was appropriately a chamomile, Vanilla and Manuka honey tea. The Universe knew what was needed.

I just discovered that the closed offices in my building have dimmable lights. This is a game changer for data heavy days and is a major accessibility win! It's such a little step but can really make a big difference for productivity and preventing burnout in the office.

Muppets (and all puppets) are terrifying but I guess this sentiment is ok since it's firmly 2D.

We all face moments when things feel overwhelming, and that’s okay. Remember, you are not alone.

Agreed! That's why I wrote ggpubfigs, a ggplot2 extension that *only colorblind-friendly color palettes. Easily make your figures colorblind-friendly with ggpubfigs! x.com/NKWhiteman/sta…

A reminder that your search committee chair, grant proposal reviewers, and manuscript reviewers might be among the 1/12 XY or 1/200 XX who can’t see what you think is obvious in your figures because they have a color vision deficiency. Adobe tools, many papers on the topic, etc.

I have delivered 40-minute French lectures on the early history of Ballet and transcribed 16th century manuscripts, 17th century captains logs. I am developing a bilingual program. Yet as me to order Tim Hortons in Rural Quebec in French and I break out in cold sweats.

*Gets assigned a @LettersPreSci penpal* Me: oh no! My penpal is interested in computer sciences and statistics! I don't know anything about this, will I be able to be interesting enough to them? Me: oh wait... I'm literally a data scientist now? I forgot that!

Decided to start rewatching Bones (because I'm achy and can't sleep) and about 30 seconds in I'm Infuriated with the skull in the carry on situation. As if someone as meticulous as Brennan would EVER have accepted transporting remains like that, needlessly putting them at risk.

I think my dog is a fan of hipster picnic concerts at farms outside the city. 10/10 experience. Lots of people wanting pets, lots of dogs keeping their distance who she can sniff at. Chill vibes, chill air, cozy blankets.

On this day in 1986, Canadian author Robert Munsch released his book Love You Forever. One of the most successful children's books ever written, it is beloved by generations of Canadians and others worldwide. Let's learn more about it (and try not to cry)! 🧵1/10
