The problem is not is Downes premier league quality because he is. You could say he has the most ‘high-risk’ role of any player in any premier league team playing the way RM wants him to. Big responsibility in for me an impossible role/way to play. RM to blame. #saintsfc

We just need to see this side after the international break. No passing about in our own box nonsense, ABK back in, defend with 10 behind the ball, Paul the outlet, with our two best attackers Dibling & Archer either side. Sulemana’s pace off the bench too #saintsfc
He’s genuinely top class, but the reality is he’s nowhere near the ability of Foden, Palmer and Jude imo. Youngsters like Rogers and MGW are playing just as well. Gotta feel for him as in any other generation in my lifetime he’d be a starter.

Why we can’t play like Brentford? No nonsense out of the back these days (they made mistakes before and changed), play the ball forward and fast. Similar quality of squad to us, lack of pace, but they move the ball so fast it doesn’t show. #saintsfc
#saintsfc fans, anyone miss the Koeman/Poch era where we had like 18 “senior players” and the rest of the squad was academy lads? Brighton and Leeds still do it well. Means we could spend more on “stars” and let the likes of Sam AA/Bragg/O’Brien Whitmarsh get minutes.
