CMS nominee Dr. Oz is a strong supporter of Medicare Advantage. And there was good reason to be optimistic. MA companies promised they could improve care, provide extra benefits, & create more patient choice all while reducing costs. Sounds great. But that's not what happened.…

Listening to @Bob_Wachter on history of #hospitalmedicine make the argument for #hospitalinthehome - average cost of hospital care is $10k/day with main lever to a impact reducing length of stay. #SHMConverge

This is very exciting news. Further validation of the work we are doing to move hospital-level health care to the home. Thank you @SenatorTimScott and @SenatorCarper for your leadership.

The Hospital at Home program has revolutionized health care throughout the pandemic. My bill with @SenatorCarper would ensure thousands of vulnerable Americans can continue receiving quality care from their own home. scott.senate.gov/media-center/p…

@aslavitt46⁩ please include messaging and incentives for healthcare workers who have not yet been vaccinated. Unvaccinated staff puts everyone in nursing homes at risk. We need to address this nationally. cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/7…

I hate headlines like this so I’ll say it again, If an engineer builds a one winged airplane that doesn’t fly, why blame the pilot and flight crew? Our society has underresourced NH’s and responds with surveys and fines. And blame.

At least 6,900 people living in or connected to nursing homes across the U.S. have died of the coronavirus, a New York Times tally found, far more people than previously known. About one-fifth of all U.S. virus deaths are linked to the facilities. nyti.ms/34JlR5O
