The campaign to pressure DeSantis to pick Lara Trump for Sen. Rubio’s seat continues, this time from Florida’s other Sen. Rick Scott. DeSantis and Scott do not get along at all, so his voice isn’t especially persuasive in the abstract, but it signals this drumbeat isn’t slowing.
Anyone who has covered FL politics knows these 2 don't have a friendly history. Scott once called Gaetz "disgusting" and "embarrassing." Gaetz said Scott was "inconsiderate" for throwing a party in the governor's mansion on his last night in office (after DeSantis had moved in).

Sources close to DeSantis tell me there is already a pressure campaign urging him to pick Lara Trump to replace Rubio in the Senate. DeSantis world is bracing for a "very constant drum beat" of Trump allies (like below) pushing for this, I'm told. DeSantis is currently in Italy.
