breaking: Southwest Power Pool President and CEO Barbara Sugg announces retirement after 35 years of service

We need this ASAP

Notable exclusion ideal for amendment: generator interconnection reform. Another approval process arguably more restrictive on all gen than fed permitting. Hits trifecta: econ+reliability+emissions benefits. Bill we & consumers back could roll in. 4/11 rstreet.org/commentary/cor…

FERC week at Senate ENR. 👀

The Senate ENR hearings for the three FERC nominees will be next Thursday at 10am. Will post the link once it is up. This will be at the same time as the monthly FERC open meeting.. could be a big news day for FERC depending on the sunshine notice (agenda) release tomorrow. 🤞

This is what a regulator is supposed to do; Utilities shouldn't have to be paid to save customers money and run their system more efficiently (keeping w/in Hope/Bluefield). This is also my problem with PBR & PIMs.

Being a Black CEO in the Fortune 500 is significant because there are way too few of us. Companies need to make sure their cultures are ready to accept diverse leadership – because many talented individuals are just waiting for the right opportunity to step up and succeed.

Eight Fortune 500 companies have a Black CEO. That’s just 1.6%, a far cry from Black Americans’ 14.4% share of the population. bit.ly/3HRWm6y

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has denied permits for a bunch of pumped storage hydropower projects on the Navajo Nation, saying it will no longer approve energy projects on tribal land without tribal approval: insideclimatenews.org/news/17022024/…

Georgia Power is also requesting pre-approval to self-build 1 GW of batteries. Only 378 MWs have been specifically identified by the company, also as ERIS service (not NRIS). When asked about this, the Georgia Power witness didn't know what ERIS/NRIS service are.
