Strong statement from @SaraOlsvig from the ICC on the importance of the @ArcticCouncil for the Indigenous Peoples, for the Arctic and for the Arctic governance and of the need to combat climate change as the biggest treath in the Arctic.

There was a fascinating Food Sovereignty discussion at the @_Arctic_Circle Assembly! Thanks to the moderator @PhDJSpence and speakers Anja Márjá Nystø Keskitalo, Laura Suorsa, Daniel Smirat, Lisa Koperqualuk, the Honourable Dan Vandal (@stbstvdan), and André Moreau. #Arctic

So pleased to see Minister VanDal on the plenary stage at @_Arctic_Circle talking about the Government of Canada’s ANPF, reconciliation, Nutrition North Harvesters Support program and much more! @stbstvdan

Canada reaffirms its commitment towards Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, during #ArcticCircleAssembly 2023.

As Bridget Larocque so eloquently said about the weaknesses in the collection of data, “…Indigenous observation and knowledge is inter-generational and in our DNA.” @sdwgsecretariat @_Arctic_Circle @SDWG_Chair @ArcticCouncil

Working towards #GenderEquality is both a lot of heart work & hard work, cooperation & co-production of knowledge. Yet a prevailing “gender-blindness” in mainstream publications underscores the lack of gender disaggregated data available. @ArcticCouncil @_Arctic_Circle

Great keynote speech by Min VanDal highlighting implementation of UNDRIP, co development of the ANPF, food security, important SDG project at the SDWG, Arctic Council, and more. Terrific to have him here in Reykjavik for this event! @arcticcircle2023 @stbstvdan

So many ministers today during the plenary reinforced that the Arctic Council remains a critical organization for circumpolar collaboration. Proud to be part of that family in my role as Canadian head of delegation for the SDWG. @ArcticCouncil @sdwgsecretariat @arcticcircle2023

.@larsloekke: Denmark will prioritize @ArcticCouncil chairship in 2025-2027 while also chairing the EU and, hopefully, having a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council. Among other things, we’ve agreed to a 12% budget increase of @DanishMFA #ArcticCircle #Assembly2023
