Last night we were presented with flags from 5 sovereign nations to be displayed in our boardroom. It was an amazing evening and I'm thankful to my friend Ismael Osuna for getting this idea off the ground. His advocacy brought some beautiful representation to our boardroom❤

I'm so grateful common sense is prevailing ❤

Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, Tempe Union High School District will require face coverings indoors at all of our school sites and the District Office. Please check your email for additional information from Superintendent Mendivil. #TUHSDstronger ❤️💙

Last month I had the honor of chairing our Ad Hoc committee on mental health. Tonight we voted 5-0 to approve the recommendations, passing the most comprehensive mental health school district policy in AZ - making @TUHSD_News a statewide and even national leader. We did it!

So, because our election was not transparent enough... the @AZGOP's solution is to host a secret counting of ballots by partisan ninjas with zero press access... and all paid for by party donors.

According to @TheYellowSheet press will not be allowed to observe the Senate election audit at the Coliseum. "We want observers who are coming to observe not to report." Was the quote.

I enjoyed touring schools yesterday and seeing students and teachers on campus. The thoughtfulness and hard work that has gone into ensuring our campuses are safe is impressive and so worth it. ❤ thank you to the parents and students who left beautiful messages in chalk!

We're thrilled to see the news that @TUHSD_News has started the process of building a #LandAcknowledgment into their meetings going forward! This is the first step to #HonorNativeLand. Remember, we're here to help! ahwatukee.com/news/article_7…

If your main argument for schools reopening is mental health support, then I’d hope you’re also actively advocating for a robust SEL curriculum, more funding for counselors/social workers, and programs to reduce the stigma. Trust me, we could have used that support a while ago.

I have posted 244 people who have died since Dec. 1. This amounts to 4 a day and 30 a week. 30 school/teaching/coaching personnel dying per week. And those are only people posted (more on my list) and known. When are schools going to start to care? @CobbSchools @jaketapper

"At the end of the study, Hawaii and New Hampshire had the lowest rates at 4.3 and 3.4 per 100 000 respectively and South Dakota and Arizona had the highest rates at 33.7 and 32.8 per 100 000." Our focus should be keeping our staff and students SAFE. jamanetwork.com/journals/jamap…

Every arguement I've seen in favor of opening up face to face learning references articles that CLEARLY state being in school is safe if 1) community spread is under control and 2)hospitals aren't in crisis mode. AZ can check both boxes. (Graphic from Flag EA) #virtualuntilsafe
