Today we say goodbye to the slender-billed curlew. In 2012 there were still 50 slender-billed curlews, but a new study has determined that the species is extinct. Protecting biodiversity is also important to us. If nature is out of balance, our health and our food are at risk.
Everything in nature is interconnected, and recognizing that what we discard can be valuable to others is a powerful aspect of recycling and sustainability. In a circular economy, materials are reused, repurposed, and kept in use for as long as possible.
It is with great honor and privilege that I attend this memorable event, organized by Pan-Atlantic University in collaboration with the Naija Youth Sustainability Forum. This gathering represents a vital platform for fostering meaningful dialogue, innovation, and collaboration.
