My latest book: Bridge to Excellence: Building Capacity for Sustainable Performance available in all formats a.co/d/89Ori31
Both client and contractor organizations must have a strategy in place to advance safety performance and the culture that sustains it. However, if the strategies conflict, they are useless.
A brand is how people associate with an individual, company, product and service. Companies that recognize this work to influence and harness these associations to improve internal and external business performance.
Invisible Wounds: The Crucial Role of Moral Injuries in Enhancing Safety Culture proactsafety.com/articles/invis…
Successful organizations realize everything rises and falls under leadership responsibility. These same organizations realize leadership development is not an event; it is an evolving process complementing all facets of business operations.
Very few leaders have received any formal training in performance coaching. Developing these skills is important, but so is the alignment of efforts among the organizational culture.
Any time I am contacted to lead workshops for organizations, one of the first questions I ask is: how will this be reinforced following the event? If motivators and demotivators are not clearly captured and outlined, then the training is potentially a roll of the dice.
A real strategy defines how to win, not how to fail less. To create a comprehensive safety strategy, several key ingredients are necessary.
The results of individual coaching are greatly multiplied when a whole organization coaches. Each performer has help from everyone of higher ability or position, and the whole population improves its performance.
