Don't be afraid of the word #Disabled. Say it. Own it. Organize around it. As long we're kept separate, we'll *never* be equal. #SayTheWord

Reminder that hydroxychloroquine IS effective for Lupus. Yet because of the lies spread about it, patients have been asking their PPO doctors to write them prescriptions, who have been obliging. That’s led to a shortage for those who truly need it. This is from an IG friend.

“She had challenges of her own, as a worker with cerebral palsy. But as shoppers around the country raided shelves for necessities in early to mid-March, Jordan wanted to make sure the elderly got theirs.” Our community is selfless. This is just one example in a sea of others.

#InsidiousEugenics Abled folks shrug & say "just wash your hands," but most public washrooms don't have wheelchair accessible sinks, taps, soap, towels or dryer. So disabled people who are at greater risk from #COVID19 can't protect ourselves. #Disability #Ableism

Thank you @JoelHardenONDP for bringing attention to this very dangerous pilot project and the implications programs like this have worldwide. ODSP benefits should NEVER be contingent on workplace abilities and it is clear that this is done with profit in mind, not disabled folks.

The Ford government's decision to privatize employment services for ODSP recipients in several Ontario regions is a threat to disability rights that must be reversed. #onpoli

Unfortunately, it is not the ONLY handicap (disability) people still make fun of. Don’t minimize the experiences of our community for your political clout.

Joe Biden speaks openly about dealing with his stutter: “You know, stuttering, when you think about it, is the only handicap that people still laugh about" #cnntownhall cnn.it/2vWMHKB

Very happy to read that @SarahJama_ is being recognized for the great work she does for the disabled community with the @djnontario and elsewhere. Congratulations Sarah!! We hope you’ll be back at Ryerson soon!!!

I spoke @SarahJama_ last year about what needs to be done to dismantle ableism in Ontario. We spoke about what drives her; the work that @djnontario does & the importance of Hamilton’s grassroots community @AndreaHorwath @TheAgenda tvo.org/video/dismantl… #BlackHistoryMonth2020

How is this hard to understand? I'm going to keep retweeting it until I get a satisfactory answer.

Shoutout to @ItCouldBeAdam and his co-speaker @CharmaineLeetta for speaking about @ryeaccess and how we can ALL contribute to dismantling ableist systems within Ryerson and otherwise. SO informative, thank you for informing all of us about allyship and unlearning ableism✊🏽

Thank you @kristynwongtam for putting forward the initiative to remind everyone what the ‘We’ in #WeTheNorth should represent. Accessibility is crucial and dignity is having everyone able to enjoy any historic moment for any fan, disabled or abled.

The Raptors' historic win of the NBA Championship was a magnificent moment. Many joined the celebrations but for ppl living w disabilities, the parade/rally accessibility could be improved. This is what the TO Accessibility Advisory Committee is seeking. toronto.com/news-story/959…

Shame on the Ford Government for withholding funding from disabled service agencies. “(We have) never experienced anything like this before,” said one frustrated official at an agency, who, like others interviewed, spoke on condition of anonymity out of fear of being defunded”

NEW: Scores of agencies that help the disabled have had their provincial funding delayed, the @TorontoStar has learned. #onpoli thestar.com/politics/provi…
