this is a genuinely terrible idea. Chrome is the main thing keeping me from being totally locked into the Apple ecosystem on my Mac. It is also a counter to Microsoft on PC. Chrome is a product that people generally have to proactively download. Consumers vote with their feet

Forcing Google to sell Chrome is absurd. Chrome is worth billions to Google but not on the open market. And any company that buys it would just be creating a new monopoly. Also ridiculous: proposals to untie Play from Android, which is impossible. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Product Discovery should speed up delivery, not slow it down. Discovery when done collaboratively creates shared understanding, focus and empowers engineers to make decisions. In my experience this removes most of the back-and-forth in development.

$AMZN STEPS UP AI CHIP PUSH TO RIVAL $NVDA - FT Amazon’s Annapurna Labs is ramping up its custom AI chip lineup to reduce dependence on Nvidia. With the soon-to-launch Trainium 2, already tested by firms like Anthropic and Databricks, Amazon aims to cut costs for its cloud…

Like I said, much of the AI funding will dry up as it's reallocated to crypto. There can only be one dominant scam at any time. Sam knows.

Interesting to see multiple articles that highlight we are hitting scaling limits to large model training. ChatGPT itself told me over a year ago this was likely to happen. x.com/bgurley/status…

Why are open-source models such a threat to AI incumbents that they would mount an SBF-level political campaign to attempt to pull-up-the-ladder through regulatory capture? Check out my three part conversation with none other than ChatGPT:

Ilya Sutskever, perhaps the most influential proponent of the AI "scaling hypothesis," just told Reuters that scaling has plateaued. This is a big deal! This comes on the heels of a big report that OpenAI's in-development Orion model had disappointing results. 🧵
