The human brain really sucks at grasping the early phases of "S" curves which are for all practical purposes exponentials. But they dominate the world around us anyway. It's the "X" that matters.
Solar power increased 10X in the last 10 years. It is on pace to increase ~10X within another 10 years. The will be the equivalent of multiplying the entire world’s fleet of nuclear reactors by 8x in less than the time it takes to build ... one nuclear reactor.
Some form of synthetic savanna is the future of energy IMO. Hybrid systems that optimize capture of solar energy for use as either electrons or food/fiber on the same acre in various forms is a killer app.
