Burning 1 million barrels of oil raises the planet's temperature by about 0.2μK. That may not sound much but we are burning ~100 million barrels of oil every day. Burning oil produces around ⅓ of global CO₂ emissions. Earth's temperature is increasing at around 0.02°C per year.
