It’s time for a board of our own! ACC, @SCAI, @HFSA & @HRSonline are uniting to request a new, independent medical board for CV medicine that would move away from #MOC and pursue a new competency approach to continuous certification. Learn more: cvboard.org.

Best month of fellowship by far and away. There is no place quite like J31! Big thanks to the whole J31 team for such an amazing month, including our nurses, APPs, procedural attendings (@RanLeeMD @PennyRampersad @AndrewHigginsMD), residents, RTs, and staff. @CCFcards

⭐️ SUPERSTARS⭐️ Drs. Evan Harmon, Chris Massad and Ryan Keane had an incredible month in the J31 CICU! First year fellow @rrkeane was responsible for placing numerous IABP🎈, temporary pacing wires ⚡️, and 10 pericardiocenteses 💉!! 💪 INCREDIBLE procedural training 💪

Here’s a quick summary of my poster from ACC:

CICU pts w/ACHD, despite being ~20 yrs younger, had same mortality/used more ICU resources/stayed longer than non-ACHD pts @rrkeane #ACC22

This is the dynamic that every medical team should have, and that I hope I help foster as a senior.

A few weeks ago, I was whistling while walking around the hospital and stopped in my tracks. I realized I was self-actualized and happy to be at work. I was on a hospital medicine team led by @CatherineWangMD and @AlexSpacht @BrighamMedRes Here's why that team was so great:🧵

Really want to reassure public (since so much talk about the B.1.1.7 mutation in SARS-CoV-2) that Pfizer/BioNTech &Moderna vaccine seem to be completely effective against this variant so have to get widespread vaccination to finish this awful pandemic off! npr.org/sections/coron…

Such an excellent incredible display of leadership

Having mild #COVIDVaccine #FOMO but also very happy to wait while my inpatient colleagues get theirs. Will not accept a shot until every single @IMResidencyDuke resident who wants one has theirs.
