I'm trying to get or change to "robin_h_p" as a username on various sites, but you can also find me as "prismglass" in a bunch of places. "VocalBird" is more recent, used mostly on gaming platforms. Not leaving yet, but this site could crumble to ash at any moment...

I met @noisetheorem at @knobcon and he gave me a BlueSky invitation. Find me over there as robinhp because those heathens don't allow underscores in usernames.

Everything good on the internet will die someday.

On the subject of social media platforms being bulldozed for profit, I'm trying to give away my stash of Reddit coins from being a (former) subscriber before they get dusted. Currently looking for useful comments & gifting Platinum with a very low bar.

5th day of COVID symptoms: I feel like I really need to lie down. I've been doing nothing but lying down for four hours.

I've determined the ideal protagonist for a book/movie I'm going to enjoy reading/watching is somewhere between 80% and 90% competent. Like, smart & generally good at stuff but with one or two major areas where they fuck up everything.

5 months after my last post, trying this again. Basically realized @knobcon is in a month and I need a clue wthigo before showing up. As for me, I got COVID right now.

I won an eBay auction for a Yamaha TX81Z and it arrived yesterday and I was up until 2AM just playing my way through the preset voices & "performances." This thing is fucking amazing. But I don't like "Lately Bass" for some reason? IMHO, it has at least 8 better bass voices.

It's only a 'mouse' if it is a wired input device. Wireless 'mice' are called hamsters.

I'm on the "get so absorbed in hobbies I forget to eat" diet this weekend.

Either listening to high-quality rips of my CDs through my studio monitors is bringing out details I've never noticed, or it's my expanded knowledge about how music is created and produced pointing out details I didn't know to listen for before.

Voting is now open for the public to choose the name of the Streamwood Park District’s Vermeer BC1500 Brush Chipper. Vote now at bit.ly/namethatchipper. Read more: streamwoodparks.org/name-that-wood….

My local library @pcpld has their own music streaming service limited to a juried selection of Chicagoland musicians' albums. You can submit your own songs/albums and they *pay* a fairly decent honorarium if you are selected: soundwave.pclib.org/showcases/arti…

In the same way that "The Cloud" really means "Someone Else's Computers" we should be referring to today's "Artificial Intelligence" as "Efficient Crowd-Sourced Deep-Cut Plagiarism." Call it what it is.

I've decided to use tracks C & D on the SQ-64 to control the Bass & Drums on my Dr. Groove DR-202. Once I figured out the MIDI mapping of the drums is not the same as the buttons say (as letters), but is what is shown in the manual (in decimal & hex) I got it to work right.
