Had to figure out how to set up Solid Queue in Rails 8 - turns out you need a separate queue database configuration. Wrote up the solution for anyone else who hits the same issue. rostislavjadavan.com/posts/setting-…

I really appreciate these small details in @jetbrains products. Their IDE warns you when you're about to accidentally delete an entire table with a missing WHERE clause.

I was running a rather ancient version of @astrodotbuild , but they've created a super handy upgrade tool. It worked flawlessly, seamlessly updating from version 2 to 4 without any issues 🚀

Want to verify if Redis (with password) is running without using redis-cli?

The most common LLM hallucinations I've experienced occur when writing infrastructure-related content. The models often invent non-existent configuration properties and plugins. It's rather strange.

While @cursor_ai is great, it would have been better as a plugin. That's why I'm currently trying @continuedev , which looks very promising. I especially like the ability to use local LLMs, even though I'm using it with Claude 3.5 Sonnet.

If you're on macOS and using Docker Desktop, there's a 200% better alternative called @OrbStack I've been using it for a month, and it provides a much better experience.

Need to run a command as a user with /sbin/nologin? Use 'sudo -u [username] [command]'. I recently solved a permissions issue by executing 'sudo -u vector ls -la /etc/vector' to view files as the 'vector' user.

I need to send logs from Docker containers running on a @Hetzner_Online server to GCP. I have basically two options: Use @vectordotdev , which seems easy to use and has great documentation. Use Google Ops Agent, which is recommended and also provides metrics, but has confusing…

Having multiple headphones is really great for listening to music and taking calls throughout a long day while keeping your ears pain-free. Currently alternating between AirPods, AirPods Pro, and Sony WH-1000XM4, and it's working great for me.

Saving this for later. A wonderful open-source guide for writing better command-line programs. Plus, it has that cool vintage vibe of old manuals from the '70s. Awesome! clig.dev

Well, this is important, instead of blurring or pixelating, just overlay a solid rectangle on top of sensitive information.

Note to myself: When conducting health checks using curl in Docker containers, always ensure that curl is installed within the container 🙈

Wonderful article about how you can find beauty and surprises in your home area without the need to travel to far-off places. noemamag.com/a-single-small…
