1/ "Boris did/not go to Perugia in Italy" - why does this matter? A thread. Background first. On the 17th Sept, officials at Perugia airport said Johnson was there "in the last few days". Later they confirmed he "landed on the 11th at 2pm and left on the 14th at 7:45am".
Apparently Jeremy Corbyn only appealed to a niche & irrelevant group of people, getting 12.8 million votes. Whereas Keir Starmer appealed to a much wider & more reflective group of people, only getting 9.7 million. Centrism is about insisting this to the bitter end. @UKLabour

This could be a huge day for Nottingham Forest's title challenge.
Rachel Reeves centres reducing the deficit as part of her plans. Let's be really clear about this. 1) That's literally austerity. Welcome back Cameron and Osborne. 2) A so called "surplus" budget would just mean that there is less money being spent in our economy.
Questions to which the answer is yes. Will Palantir, a spytech firm, with a history of highly unethical conduct, whose founder hates the NHS and supports Trump, be the big winner of @wesstreeting's NHS data reforms?
They’re called banks. But if the New York Times says that, they’d have to explain that Israel is committing more war crimes. So they report it like this instead.
Are liberals really not seeing the slaughtered infants every day or do they just not care
It's gotten to the point where the only advantage to sharing your coordinates with the IDF as a humanitarian aid organization is that it will allow the historical records to show that they knew exactly what they were doing when they killed you.
The IDF bombed a clearly marked vehicle and killed four engineers going to repair water infrastructure in southern Gaza after they had coordinated the trip with Israeli authorities, Oxfam says oxfam.org/en/press-relea…
The Premier League has never been won by an English manager, the Champions League hasn’t been won by an English manager since 1984 and not a SINGLE trophy in England has been won by an English manager since 2008. A nation who extremely overrate themselves! 🏴
Gibbs-White gets sent off, he and Nuno complain against it, a panel agree and decide he shouldn’t have been sent off, but cannot do anything to overturn as it was a second yellow. End product? Nuno suspended for complaining, MGW banned twice for one incident. Cba x #NFFC
It is not possible for anything to be voluntary from an organization that everyone is terrified of, especially one that sanctions benefits. If you think so, you fundamentally misunderstand how power operates.
Racist chanting gets you a £10k fine. Complaining about 3 woeful VAR decisions by a ref that supports a rival team gets you a £750k fine. Which is proportionate?
Nottingham Forest have been fined £750,000 and warned for misconduct in relation to comments posted on social media after their Premier League game against Everton on Sunday 21 April. Full statement: the-fa.com/p1jppd
As the British media chase their tails over frocks, reading glasses and footie tickets, I have a question: How many years does does it take to arrest, prosecute and imprison two multi-million pound Tory fraudsters?
I'm no body language expert, but following the news that the @BBC has cancelled a prime-time interview with Boris Johnson after the presenter Laura Kuenssberg *accidentally* sent the former PM her briefing notes, here's an unedited clip from a few years ago.
🚨 Qatar have submitted a bid to host the Prime Minister's son's A-levels revision
As someone who has been a lifelong old school liberal and left of centre, it’s pretty obvious that Keir Starmer and the Labour government are not these things. Instead, they are authoritarian, hypocritical and using sanctimonious fake virtue to try and mask some pretty appalling…
🚨 NEW: Savanta asked 2,000 people to describe Starmer in one word. The top answer by far: LIAR.
Labour's leaders are making a big mistake in behaving that the landslide they won - thanks to the quirks of our electoral system - represented huge popular enthusiasm for them. 17.52% of British adults voted Labour in the 2024 election.
Someone heckles Keir Starmer about the mass slaughter of children in Gaza. Starmer laughs and suggests he got his pass from the 2019 Labour conference. Genuinely vile behaviour.
