Atlantic crossing are generally flown following “tracks” – standardized navigation points, like a highway in the sky. Below is the North Atlantic Track System (NATS). They aren’t static…they’re built twice daily by ATC, maximizing fuel efficiency by taking into account winds…

Another evening across the Atlantic.

On how we run and keep ClickHouse up to date at Tinybird. Some context first: - We manage hundreds of ClickHouse instances across several regions in AWS, GCP, and Azure. - When it comes to storage, we have a mix of Block (EBS, PD) and Cloud (S3, GCS, ABS).

I know $12 USD is a lot of money for some people, so to celebrate 1000+ sales (!!!!), I'm giving away 1000 PDF copies of How Git Works (honour system: only if $12 is a lot for you!) Here's the link, enter code BUYONEGIVEONE at checkout to get a free copy wizardzines.com/zines/git/

Yes of course, that's what we do and many other things too. But the point of my tweet wasn't asking for help. It was pointing out the frivolousness of flippant commentary like "Just patch your shit". Great idealism, zero real world solutioning.

I'm so glad this is finally public! My team built this for our internal "Jamhack" last year, and now it's available for everyone. I really think you'll like it. I use it constantly. No more scrolling through logs to find the build failures.

Dear native English speaking web designers: Please don't do this. Most Latin alphabet non-English languages use diacritics. My name sans them changes prosody and meaning. And if you can't feed diacritics in your DB, at least don't tell me my freaking first name "isn't valid".

As somebody who grew up on an off grid ranch in Idaho, farming and hunting and living off the land, I feel grateful and blessed to the point of tears every time I think about how I get to sit on my ass and solve puzzles all day. Like how the fuck did I get this lucky.

spend a few years in tech and all you want in life is an off-grid ranch far away from civilization, happily living of the land and working under the sun like our grandparents did. The office culture is a trap that destroys our metabolism. We need more natural light to survive.
