paper day! 🥳 we tried @astrobites lesson plans with a bunch of students to see how it affected them (hint: it was good!) students felt better about reading research literature afterwards, plus lots of other positive effects as described in our paper: arxiv.org/abs/2309.05822
And with a day of MHD, it's a wrap on the @FlatironCCA Fluids summer school! Most of the course materials are collected here (we'll add links to the recordings later): users.flatironinstitute.org/~parmitage/Flu… Thanks to the students, lecturers, and awesome CCA staff for a stimulating school.

Today marks 5 years since I was diagnosed with cancer (and 2.721 years since the end of chemo). It all feels so surreal… were there really multiple months of my life where I looked like an egg?
Thanks to our members for attending our first town hall of the year! We started with an ice breaker of "if you were a photon on the electromagnetic spectrum, where would you be?" and Astrobiter, @MarkPopinchalk plotted it here!
Get ready for more public astronomy next week! 6pm on Friday, March 3, in Pupin Hall: Prof. Mordecai-Mark Mac Low will be telling us about "The Cosmic History of Stellar Birth" -- see the attached flyers for more info! (and RSVP at tinyurl.com/columbia-astro…)⭐️🌟✨🌌
