Out of respect for H.G. Wells, the first book will remain canon, as Vanguard 33 is its sequel and a prequel to Superkillers Season 2. While keeping Griffin’s characterization intact, I want to focus more on the “why” of his character. A perfect example is shown in this excerpt:

Janemba could be the final villain of DBS especially if he is retconned as an angel that gets corrupted by the Soul Cleansing Machine overload instead of the Saike Demon. And given his powerset he can easily be a multiversal threat.
Funny thing, I actually intentionally do it. I put on my strongest American accent and say “gracias”. Just because I like to giggle to myself since I know fluent Spanish but they always assume I’m white so I go with it.
