Anyone wanting to study an online MA in English should seriously look at this: so far I have studied things like Vikings, Mary Wollstonecraft, Agatha Christie, Victorian Literature and Place Names. Wonderfully eclectic and marvellously diverse! From anywhere in the world 🌍

When is a module not a module? When it's a pod! 🫛 Our online course is taught through pods: they can be taken in any combination and any order, with each 6 pods leading to an assessment portfolio. We currently have 79 pods in our catalogue! Sign up for an info session now.

The IOC must listen to the outrage & pain that this decision has caused, & understand its collateral damage on all victim-survivors. It must also understand how it came to make the decision, and why. See my comments in the @guardiannews #Olympics2024 theguardian.com/sport/article/…

Absolutely outstanding by @coldplay tonight at #Glastonbury - they always put on a great show, but this is incredible and so positive #FixYou

When I was much younger, before I had children, before I had a child who couldn’t go to school, I worked for a children’s charity. I got a call one day from Channel4. Can we comment on the first parent to be sent to jail for not sending her child to school? 🧵1/9

Such a brilliant initiative, congratulations to @UoNCSVA! Some of our online students (who aren't so distant) have been getting involved with Vikings for Schools, and have thoroughly enjoyed volunteering.

Having been to the first event of the day, I can absolutely recommend this fabulous talk taking place on Eventbrite at 7pm GMT: I mean, haunted saucepans! (I always knew there was something suspicious about cooking)

Continuing our ghost theme... this week's talk is all about Inhuman Ghosts in the Fin-de-siecle Haunted saucepans. Demonic monkeys. What next!? Sunday 10th at 10am and 7pm. Don't miss out. eventbrite.com/cc/inhuman-gho…

Agatha Christmasie! If you, like us, think there's nothing more festive than a murder mystery, then you'll love our pod on The Queens of Crime Fiction. It focuses on the work of four female authors of detective fiction and their 20th-century context.

A great little trip to campus on a cold morning: although I wasn’t quite sure if I was in Nottingham or a mystical realm! One of the many fabulous things about studying via @UoNAppEnglish is that I get to enjoy views like this occasionally!
