"The IRA is “Reducing Health Care Premiums,” @SenBobCasey  stated. He is wrong again. As reported in Politico, the IRA machinations were set to cause premiums to rise this November for Medicare patients. An embarrassing problem the Biden administration is trying to cover up by…

Time is like American Pravda. Either that or it is relaunching as a political satire site. Americans cannot reject corporate media soon enough.

WOW. One day after @RobertKennedyJr brings the national health crisis into focus through the Trump campaign, Time magazine has this teed up to drop saying processed foods have been ‘unfairly demonized’. Notice how they mention ‘marginalized’ to make it a DEI issue. The mainstream…

But insulin secret contract kickbacks INCREASE the cost of insulin by 75%. How does that qualify as a useful measure in the Inflation REDUCTION Act? I am so confused?

Inflation reduction act was 🤢 for healthcare. #kickbacks collected by #PBMs accounted for 80% of the cost of insulin. The IRA gave a gift to the PBM leaches. More here realclearhealth.com/articles/2022/…

Let's not politicize this @mikepompeo You seem to be an expert on this matter. Let's agree to a debate and lay the facts out for everyone to see. @A_Ciaccia @mcuban #pbm #healthcare @mass_marion @Free2CareHC

This time, President Biden's FTC Commissioners published a biased and deeply flawed report on pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).  The facts and data show that PBMs lower costs for patients. That's why employers overwhelmingly use them. But all this administration cares about is…

Poignant post from @A_Ciaccia

Considering that drugs like Eliquis have net prices that are a fraction of the list prices – with so many of those rebates going to government programs – if the committee wants answers for why the prices are so high, maybe instead of pharma execs, they should subpoena a mirror.

No one is even surprised. THAT is a bigger problem than the fraud itself. It shows how normalized corruption has become.

Sam Bankman-Fried donated $100 million in stolen customer funds to US politicians. Today, the US Government announced they're dropping six charges against SBF and will not prosecute him for a political campaign finance violation.

Utah needs to do the same! Our taxpayer money is going to the greedy PBM. @GovCox @Utahmed @UtahDHHS

PBMs said that if Kentucky messed with their secretive methods of impacting drug prices, costs would skyrocket. Instead, after firing the old guard PBMs, increasing transparency, and standardizing pricing, Kentucky actually saved $283 million. @d_yetter kentuckylantern.com/2023/10/05/rep…

Might want to add this to the thread

Why doesn’t Hotez want to debate RFK Jr on Rogan? This seems to be a clue.

You write with clarity and great satIsfaction that the corrupt business model is being exposed. Keep up the pressure. It seems PBMs still think they are untouchable.

Thanks @SenateHELP, especially @RogerMarshallMD and @SenMullin for exposing the #PBM creating Swiss #GPO and sending their rebate check to those GPO. Yoo hoo, 🇺🇸, patients are not getting the ‘rebates’ realclearhealth.com/articles/2023/…

As a physician I advise all patients to be careful about the side effects of all drugs and all surgeries.

Every parent should watch this

I'm very happy to see all of the attention on #PBMs and hope that the momentum continues. I encourage our lawmakers to pay attention to the Group Purchasing Organizations (#GPOs) as well as they benefit from the same exemption from the anti-kickback statute.

Hear this taxpayers: When #PBM are involved Prices go HIGHER. That’s what’s up! #Optum #ExpressScripts #CVS roll in the profits while the patients file for bankruptcy.

.@SenMarkey points out that when the price is higher the #PBM is more likely to choose the product for their formulary. That’s because they get a higher kickback ( aka rebate) with a higher cost product. As @SenBillCassidy pointed out, the incentives are messed up.
