Various currencies across the African continent are recovering from the Covid-19 and Russia-Russia Ukraine War effect, but the Ghanaian Cedi has not shown any sign of recovery. The country-specific indicator causing the Cedi to depreciate is economic mismanagement.

Ghana’s problem is legal. No reasonable system can permit a president to appoint an IGP or Electoral Commissioner, remain the commander in chief of the armed forces, and, with a simple majority in parliament, be able to pass laws. We have a ridiculous Constitutional arrangement

Day 1, #FreetheCitizens: Being political is no sin; the status quo where money interests trump vision taints ‘politics’ to alienate you. Leading a revolutionary fight for clean water is political in essence, as we wrestle with power centres that criminalize a noble cause.

The just about 500 people at the protests on Day 1, Oct 3, may have seemed underwhelming to some. My take is that tens of thousands watching on the sidelines have felt the message and been touched by the revolutionary spirit. This movement is divine. #FreetheCitizens

Ghana has worked its way into a debt trap through the patronage of a ruling elite that have been selfish, naïve and horribly wrong in judgement. The country benefits int'l lenders & MNCs, while the plight of its masses is at risk. Make no mistake, we are at the crossroads.

Political actors flex their power by projecting concepts like 'rule of law' and 'peaceful' as values they believe in when their actions say the opposite. In actuality this gaslights & seeks to repress the people's divine right to call out systemic misrule #FreetheCitizens
