#OTD in 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby in Dallas. It was the second major historic event witnessed by Oswald's escort, detective Jim Leavelle (wearing the distinctive tan suit). Leavelle had also been a sailor on USS Whitney during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
