I've never met @ElissaMendes but her work for the Charlatan has been mind blowing. One more important and disturbing piece that she has brought to life. Excellent work. keep digging!

After a UN investigation tied companies to Israeli settlement activity on occupied Palestinian territory, Carleton continued investing millions into them, a document obtained by the Charlatan alleges.  charlatan.ca/document-alleg…

Very proud to be an employee of The Pointer and absolutely honoured to have received Ontario Nature’s media and conservation award last weekend alongside @JoeljWittnebel @lextoinfinity

It’s been getting hate so I thought I’d share my piece. Proud of this one thepointer.com/article/2024-0…

Ford's new legislation is called the "Get it Done" Act, but what is he really trying to get done? thepointer.com/article/2024-0…

Personally, I'd rather start trying to fix the harms that previous generations of journalists caused. I'd rather aim for responsible, fair journalism that doesn't present a false ideal of objectivity that doesn't exist. I'd rather not cast blame on people who didn't make the mess

The amount of people shaming and demeaning @johnedwardmac in the comments for asking that journalists know what outlets pay before they pitch/apply, is ridiculous. These are the people who have no respect for what we do and how hard we work.

Post your rates, @hollyanndoan I'm certain there are plenty of @JSchool_CU grads who could write for you if the pay is adequate.

There is a certain type of irony when a premier, who has completely overhauled the municipal planning process, condemns the feds for directly helping municipalities build homes. Newest from me thepointer.com/article/2023-1…

7,000 pages of FOI documents + 28 hours + bogged down with the flu = this 3,000 word deep dive. Super proud of this one. thepointer.com/article/2023-1…

Ford and Calandra have apologized for the Greenbelt scandal calling it a "mistake". Yet the MMAH has neglected to respond to an FOI request submitted days after the initial carveouts were announced ... Newest from me @PointerSauga @PointerBrampton thepointer.com/article/2023-1…

Let’s be straight: MPs should not be dictating how journalists cover the news. Editorial interference is a violation of press freedom. Full stop. Read the full statement: caj.ca/caj-hands-off-…

It’s been shocking to see the lack of historical context provided in too many stories about the #Israel- #Palestine conflict. As journalism educators we need to prepare our students to tell critical stories. They need to be studying more history/philosophy/political theory.

You’re seriously missing out if you don’t hire @LMBaechlin In all honesty I’ve worked with Manuel as a peer and colleague and his skill set and attention to detail are unmatched. He’d be an asset to any team.

CALL OUT: Teachers, do you find it more difficult to teach when classroom temperatures are above average? Are students less engaged? How do you deal with this? I'd love to speak with you. DM or email rachel.morgan@thepointer.com @PeelSchools @DCPDSBSchools

Just got a notification that I joined Twitter 6 years ago. That means 6 years ago I had my first day of Jschool and joining Twitter was my first task. Oh what a ride it's been. @JSchool_CU
