After 3 days of #FWD50, and on the same theme, I'm sharing a little thing I wrote. Full disclosure: this was initially thought as a presentation I wanted to pitch for the conference. But I chickened out. :-) So here's the blog post instead..! davidpepin.ca/billets/state-…

Is there a reason to link to Trellis.law? What a shitty ass website. Can't even copy the case title and google it, right click is disabled, etc.

The "increase trust in government" framing bothers me because it implicitly points to the problem being that people lack trust. No, the problem to address is increasing the trustworthiness of the institution. And yes that's a taller order.

This resonates so much for me. I've been working "on the edges" of big modernization projects in #GCDigital for a few years (so, not directly in them, but in teams working on the continuous improvement of the web presence, impacted by these projects), and I think it's spot on.

Funding tech in government as projects instead of products is in some ways THE problem from which all others cascade. bit.ly/3KymQvb

I've been experimenting with local #GenAI (Llama3-7b) paired with #KnowledgeGraphs to answer simple questions about governement services. All local, running on regular computer. Not perfect, but promsing! #GCDigital

Been thinking about this a lot recently: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Work_… What would Benjamin think of the impact of #GenAi on the "aura" of works of art? What are the societal and political implications of the latest developments?

I’m gonna give 10 random people that repost this and follow me $25,000 for fun (the $250,000 my X video made) I’ll pick the winners in 72 hours

Super interesting, #GCDigital.

The @GOVUK AI Team is investigating how generative artificial intelligence and large language models could help the millions of people that use @GOVUK every week. Learn more about our #AI Experiments on our blog: insidegovuk.blog.gov.uk/2024/01/18/exp…
