Do not go to the devil's streets He's prowling And roaring Seeking for preys To fall by the guillotine Of deaf And blind bullets He kills at will The souls Bodies And spirits Of those he swore allegiance to keep Before the villainous romance With pride Greed And power.
WAR AND PEACE There's war at home And peace at the battlefield There's war in worship places And peace in liquor houses There's war everywhere on earth And peace in quiet graveyards There's war in spiritual realms And peace heaven's bliss The best of wars Are wars not fought
Black witches And wizards Gather round a steaming cauldron Taunting the quiet moon Singing her a lullaby Of evil's conspiracy And reprimanding a conjecture of howling And puffing To cast the mountains into sordid seas And wither barren trees Fie Fie Mourn Eclipse her sun.
Poems should tell untold stories of the dead that knows nothing about themselves, their haunting ghosts, cruelty to birds and animals, relegated plants, the often injured trees, helpless polluted rivers, man's injustice to man and the ills of governance. It's a mirror of usage!
I will say the least, that the #EndSARSregime should not enthrone the bearing of arms by disgruntled and unscrupulous elements and defeat the objectives of maintaining law and order in a just society. I stand with the #ReformSARS for a better Nigeria.
Two hands of the Justice lady One, holding a cudgel To pummel the fate of a christened criminal And set aside a gulliotine's fall The other, bearing gifts of pomegranates on her scales As chicanery for tributes Buried in promotions And elevations In altar of Justice.
