A wonderful piece. You did a great job explaining Don's work. I didn't know much about his background or personal life (except that Kamala was his daughter), so this part was very informative.

Thanks Steven

I second the suggestion.

Don’t miss this wonderful close, careful look at the economic thought of Donald Harris, from John Cassidy. newyorker.com/news/the-weeke…

Wonderful piece by @JohnCassidy on Don Harris, with lots of quotes/comments from Duncan Foley of @NSSRNews

"In short, Harris is a more interesting and idiosyncratic figure than he has been portrayed in some quarters." For a new piece on the economist Donald Harris, I corresponded with him, read his work, & spoke with some of his former students & colleagues. newyorker.com/news/the-weeke…

Great book!! I remember reading it in a political philosophy class in college along with Arrow's famous book on social choice (which should be taught in conjunction with Wolff)

Turns out, this was the first book I ever bought on Amazon in May 2000. Teaching it for the first time next week following a section on civil disobedience and Hobbes.

Show me the baby pictures!!

I’m tired of 45 year-old faculty using images of their 32 year old-selves as their headshot photos. Let’s use pics from our early 20’s instead.

The third paper in the symposium is a tribute the work and life of David Colander (@middecon), who served as President of the EEA in 1994, and who passed away in December 2023. It is written by Colander's long time coauthor Richard Holt. doi.org/10.1057/s41302…

In the second article, Giandomenica Becchio provides a history of economic thought piece on the association's first president Barbara Bergmann. Maybe of interest to @IAFFE and @economicthought folks! doi.org/10.1057/s41302…

There is a solution-- JUNK THE JUNK FOOD

Oh how times have changed: once upon a time as a tax man, circa 2012. Then junk food was introduced & it’s taken over

You should plan to get BLITZEN-ed. 😄

Goodness, I just opened the portal with my treatment schedule. My last Stage 1 chemo infusion is on Christmas Eve, so I will certainly have something to celebrate!

a good opportunity for environmental economists-- working with my former student @AshishKumarSed1

📢📢Come work with me at @UTArlington!!📢📢 We are hiring an Environmental Economist who will work in an interdisciplinary team towards a #SustainableFuture. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We hope to see you soon!! uta.peopleadmin.com/postings/30019

Hope that those perspectives continue to soar through the galaxy and don't crash into someone's home in Toronto. 🤣🤣🤣
