The media council protem committee did give feedback to the code of conduct by Jabatan Penerangan. Nevertheless, any endorsement can only be by the media council once properly formed.

The current draft Media Council bill empowers the council to draft its own code of conduct and enforce it accordingly. The Info Dept remains the authority issuing media passes. We hope this clarifies. malaysiakini.com/news/696711

Alexei Navalny had the courage to stand up to a regime that projects strength abroad even as it reveals its vulnerability at home by resorting to imprisoning and physically eliminating its opponents. theguardian.com/world/2024/feb…

It is devastating news that Navalny has reportedly died in Russian custody; he has paid the ultimate price of courageously standing up against an oppressive regime. bbc.co.uk/news/world-eur…

Navalny's courage and his conviction can't be erased.

It's pretty simple, don't aid war criminals.

No one in Congress should vote to send $10 billion in military aid to Netanyahu’s war machine when they are responsible for an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.

Double standards hinder Malaysia's progress

Intan Diana Abdul Rahim is fuming mad. The 40-year-old is angry that her brother, who's been languishing in prison since 2001, has not had a shot at a royal pardon, while a certain politician recently had his sentence halved after spending barely two years behind bars. "We are…

Excellent story by @malaysiakini and @KiniNewsLab

For M'sia Day, @KiniNewsLab & @VinoSelvatoray reports on how Bajau Laut mums lose their babies to adoption w/o their consent, after being warded in Hospital Lahad Datu. Welfare Dept deem them unfit and hand over babies to waiting adoptive parents. newslab.malaysiakini.com/stateless/en/?…

People want democracies that deliver. And it's about time too.

The populists are wrong. People care deeply about democracy and rights. They want action on climate change, poverty and inequality. They support more aid and safe legal routes for refugees. They don't think authoritarians deliver what people want. youtube.com/watch?v=mcRcyu…
