I love how BEAM languages embrace each other. Like a big-loving-functional family. #myelixirstatus

CNC machines can build *perfect* electric guitars and yet some people pay a premium to have a handmade one built by a luthier. Maybe in the future people will pay a premium to have a human programmer write their software instead of an AI for the sake of “handmade code”.
From a DM, just in case anyone else needs to hear this.
Going from reading up on Django’s Queryset docs to woodworking joinery is an interesting mood.
Having done this a lot of times I can vouch for its veracity.
Gonna be taking a carpentry class this year starting in a few weeks and I'm excited. 😃
These are the first set of frets I remove. These were on an acoustic guitar and are so old and flat I had to dig them out of the fretboard using a cutter. Luckily the guitar is mine, otherwise someone would be really angry because of how that fretboard looks right now. 🫣
I've decided to start making electric guitars. I'll start with kits and then I'll progress into building everything from scratch myself. My first attempts will surely suck, but it'll be awesome to have an instrument I made with my own hands.
I'm reaching that age where one gets interested in woodworking.
The latest documentary from @Fall_of_Civ_Pod was absolutely great. Go ahead and learn: youtu.be/0MtIVJ2lcu8
Working with team-player senior engineers is nice. You ask them something, they help you out, and a while later they check if you made progress and always offer more support if you happen to need it. It's kinda cool to be honest.
Lispers: Lisp is the most beautiful language, so elegant that it wasn't so much created as discovered, as timeless as mathematics itself—which it of course is. Lisp: LOL my two most common functions are named after CPU instructions from a weird-ass chip that IBM made in the 50s.
Software that records every single thing you do on your computer. What could possibly go wrong?
It's very likely that code written today will become the future's Lascaux or Altamira.
I think I will never get to the point where I can bring myself to purchase a font license. That might change, of course, but at the moment I don't see why I'd do that.
I really hate that MacOS makes me install xcode tools again every time there's an update. That sucks.
Yesterday I wrote some Typescript and I liked it. 🙂
Isn't it funny when successful entrepreneurs think all their opinions are brilliant just because of their financial success? It's hilarious.
