Happy Halloween!!! Here's a podcast discussing, among other things, my "ghost argument" against physicalism (33 mins in). podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/gho… @freganmitts @FrankVIII

Some good Halloween advice for everyone courtesy of Confucius: "Respect the ghosts and spirits but keep them at a distance—this can be called wisdom" (Analects 6.22).

In this episode, we investigate ghosts and hauntings. Are ghosts non-physical spirits, physical beings, or something in between? Why do ghosts seem to haunt particular places? Are there any good *natural* explanations for ghostly encounters (bonus: Megan gives her own theory)?

Listeners, we need your help! We’re looking for the MOST CONVINCING haunted house (/other establishment) case to discuss on our next episode. Give us the most skeptic-convincing spooky story you’ve heard! 👻

@philofringes There's a cutout of Bigfoot here in Minnesota. Enjoyed the second episode! Lots of fun.

This is an important question! The question that Philosophy on the Fringes was created in response to!

"We have become comfortable—too comfortable—with the limitations we have imposed on ourselves... we find ourselves increasingly siloed in the conversations others like us are already engaged in, and in the forms that they most easily take." dailynous.com/2024/09/26/wha…

On the next episode of Philosophy on the Fringes, you’ll be getting veeeerryyy sleeeeeeepyyy… ⏱️

Doing a little research for a future @philofringes episode while a baby sleeps on me. Read this intriguing paper by Mary Rowland Haight called “Hypnosis and the Philosophy of Mind” philpapers.org/rec/HAIXAT
