Another great 10K "Run in the Park" to benefit @HermannPark . Despite a wrong turn and some extra distance we crossed together at 53:28. Kid barely broke a sweat, wish I could say the same. Thanks to @reliantenergy for their sponsorship!
First time trying Chateau Saint-Saturnin. Trying to understand how such an inexpensive, 38 year-old Cru Bourgeois from the Médoc could be this deep, rich and good.
Saturday evening with a delicious wine with an epically long name: 2008 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Vergelesses by Simon Bize & Fils. This vineyard's vines were planted progressively in 1939, 1949 and 1954.
We’re excited to partner with Renew Home to expand NRG’s residential virtual power plant (VPP) capabilities. Our AI-powered VPP – enabled by @googlecloud technology – will help meet increasing energy demand and deliver potential cost savings to customers. bit.ly/3YWCWqC
It's 1996 night in Calgary. Both bottles are absolutely perfect.
Big week ahead. As a Canadian observer, I hope for patience, kindness and mutual understanding. This will undoubtedly be the most carefully executed and observed election in history. I hope facts and truth prevail over conspiracies and that the will of the people is respected.
New flask decanter, unabashedly inspired by @DavidMarra required a very special inaugural wine. 2015 Poggio di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino certainly fits the bill. Their wines are so elegant and this is another glorious example. My goodness. Is this the benchmark Brunello?
About last night: Chambertin duel. Both wonderful, but the Drouhin took it - thanks in part to the very strong vintage and extra 20 years in bottle.
Ferrari win today calls for backyard Burgundy. 2015 Faiveley Nuits-Saint-Georges "Les Damodes" is just entering the drinking window - lots of grip here.
This video of Freddie Freeman explaining why he plays for team 🇨🇦 is heart breaking. Gets me everytime😭🎀 #WorldSeries #dodgers
The 2014 Aloft Cabernet from Howell Mountain is an opulent and well-structured wine with loads of dark fruit, great floral notes and just the right level of oak. BIG wine. Thanks to @JoeBrettell for the intro to this wine and to the @MondaviSisters for their wine making magic!
Celebrating World Pasta Day with 2010 Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino Riserva single vineyard "Madonna del Piano." As big a BDM as I've had in a long time. This will continue to age well for years but delicious now.
The atlanta airport designers were like "and then what if we had them run a 5k"
Wine scores can be very polarizing. Personal preference, subjectivity & bottle variation are all important factors that affect how we experience a wine. But when many major writers/reviewers all score a wine as a perfect 100 you know it's going to be special. It was. 2001 Yquem
Thatcher's Wine is a great little wine shop in LA's Brentwood area. Cool vibe (including DJ setup) and some pretty amazing wines - including multiple vintages of Salon champagne on the top shelf!
Revisiting this wine a few months later after reading @janeansonwine 's Saint-Emilion summary where she asked the question: "Can the real St-Emilion please stand up?". This feels pretty real and punches well above its weight.
Friday pour: 2001 Château Barde-Haut is in a great spot. @jebdunnuck's note is spot on: "blackcurrants, chocolate, tobacco and Asian spices. With resolved tannins, a great mid-palate, and a concentrated, rich, powerful style, it's another 2001 that's drinking brilliantly today."
La Fête du Champagne returned to Houston. An evening led by Lanson's Chef de Cave, Hervé Dantan, we tasted 10 Champagnes across 6 decades - all from magnum. Remarkable freshness across the range but the longevity of these wines had to be tasted to be believed. 🥂
