Now I’ve got my head screwed on; And my boots are both laced up; Don’t want to be a precinct puppet; I’m going to walk just where I choose

Great to read this. This will be an awesome addition to the @SlowWaysUK network too!

Anyone who has read my book will recall Frome's Missing Link - a tantalising 3 mile stretch of missing path that'd connect with an off-road route all the way to Bristol and Bath. Progress: they're now crowdfunding to resurface another 1.3km of it 💪 crowdfunder.co.uk/p/surfacing-ph…

Hi @LouHaigh @simonlightwood, so pleased you are having a major focus on walking, wheeling and cycling! Have you heard of @SlowWaysUK? We're developing a national walking and wheeling network that connects all of Britain's towns, cities and national landscapes! Would you like…

Tricky start to my #slowways walk this morning - buses and trains all over the place due (I assume) to trees down. Finally on a train to Weston Super Mare, but the driver is delayed on another service…

This is the best thing I’ve learnt for ages!

TRUE FACT: It's probably the only kids' TV show with a theme tune by the murderous bluesman Lead Belly.... youtube.com/watch?v=EdgEMS…

I wonder if this is true. My experience, in a relatively small town, is that there are loads of bands forming at secondary school. Recently spent an evening at a local “battle of the bands” and the variety and talent was amazing. Maybe depends on teachers and opportunity.

Very few learning to play instruments at school and computer kids in bedrooms creating their own background music.

This is outrageous - of course he should step down. Glad to be rid of Rees-Mogg, but now we get a part time @UKLabour MP. Is this really acceptable?

New MP Dan Norris has shrugged off the suggestion of stepping down from being metro mayor, calling a mayoral by-election “nonsensical” bristol247.com/news-and-featu…

Wow - the replies to this have been useful for finding obnoxious accounts to block. Good on these students (though they may be there a long time…)

BREAKING: Students have locked and barricaded themselves into Will's Memorial Building. They say they will remain there until the University of Bristol "ends its complicity in genocide"

Why get involved with Slow Ways? It's important (and fun) work. We've lots to do and would love for you to be involved.

Slow Ways is more than a network for walking and wheeling. It is a network for all the benefits walking, wheeling and collaborative volunteering give people, places and communities! #SlowWays #NationalWalkingNetwork

Ten months ago, we launched the Vesuvius Challenge to solve the ancient problem of the Herculaneum Papyri, a library of scrolls that were flash-fried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Today we are overjoyed to announce that our crazy project has succeeded. After 2000…

Walked from Westbury to Warminster via Bratton this morning using @slowways routes wesbra one and warbra one. Wet and occasionally windy, but always pleased to walk in the company of the horse.
