My “hot take” is that Reeves' Apes duology should be as well regarded as James Cameron's Avatar films are in terms of blockbuster filmmaking.
Idk I'd say the movie is underrated but it most definitely underseen. Faxon and Rash had a good thing going on The Descendants and The Way Way Back. I hope they do something original again because they've got the sauce together.
