An old English name for the bluebell is ‘hare-bell’. A story tells that when three fairies damaged their wings while battling the pixies, a hare carried them to safety. As reward the Fairy Queen filled the woods with bell-flowers that ring to warn hares of danger. #FolkloreSunday
