The nature of wildfire and the need to manage it requires resources. Our members have approximately 14,000 pieces of specialized equipment including timber faller modules, engines, tenders, dozers, other specialized equipment, and fire/ emergency incident camp services.
Nationally, there were 68,988 wildfires reported in 2022. This number was noticeably higher than in the last ten years. These fires consumed 7,577,183 acres across the nation. NWSA member partners bring necessary skills, equipment, and expertise to protect at-risk communities.
NWSA annual conference is open to all members and agency personnel and focuses on information about issues related to the industry.
NWSA members can provide the crews, equipment and know-how needed for effective wildland firefighting and restoration.

NWSA member resources mean we can provide turnkey solutions for prescribed burns and forest management. Members bring crews, engines, tenders, heavy equipment and other specialized equipment.
Our members’ skills encompass wildfire response, wildfire recovery, large landscape restoration, fuels mitigation, prescribed burning, logging. We stand with our agency partners to meet the mandate in the Wildfire Crisis Strategy in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.
