Have you ever encountered the dark side of pod priorities? Here is an excellent post by @nunoadrego about being careful when using pod priorities. bit.ly/3pWhRua

Each time you are abstracting away some problems, you are abstracting away troubleshooting capabilities.

Ok. New plan. KubeCon EU 2024 - Lisbon?

I'm attending #KubeConEU virtually for the second time. Tip for first-timers: don't stress out about the schedule! What works for me: aim for one session in each time slot and watch the others as recordings. Relax, learn and interact with the community via CNCF Slack and Twitter.

Metrics from GitHub and JIRA can't tell you how productive an engineering team is.

I came to the realization that if you give me 2-3 weeks without any meetings every quarter, it produces artifacts that are a year long initiative. Among 3-4 initiatives I come up with, one of them will be agreed on and funded. If I don’t get my autonomous time, I can’t execute.

As a senior engineer, you should learn how to be less reactionary and more strategic. Reactionary behavior creates tactical solutions. Tactical solutions create more problems. Learning to think big and fix foundational issues sometimes makes hard problems disappear.

to the author and other folks: hi! 🤗 Base64 is encoding, not encryption, and it isn't a secure way to store sensitive data. A lot of people are confused by this, so it's not just you! But it's really important to understand, so we've covered it here: kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/…
