Arrived back in Spain and canโt tell you how happy I am about the far-rightโs failure in France and the fact the UK has adults in charge again. Things are looking up for Europe ๐

All the wealthy middle & upper class boomers lamenting the new Labour gov, terrified of having to pay a bit more for decent public services, and threatening to leave the UK. Pathetic, selfish, cry babies. The UK is crap right now because of you and better off without you!
It is a tall order, & will take time - it will also take the nation to do its part. We can't just sit back & expect Labour to do all the heavy lifting. Re-building includes our cooperation; our civility; intelligence & compassion. We must all step up with a shared purpose.
So much to do. I dread the media paying too much attention to reform or Labour indulging in the prejudices of their voters. They need to bring about some clear changes in peopleโs everyday lives domestically and stop allowing the voters and press to obsess over immigration.
When the bar has been set so low for so long, itโs almost giddying to have credible, experienced, serious people in cabinet and to be spoken to with respect and understanding. Clearly, thatโs the least we deserve. Right now it feels transformational.

โBashingโ Labour now is bashing the country. These are exceptional times and anyone who wants Labour to fail wants the country to fail. Johnson exposes himself yet again as having not a single patriotic bone in his wobbly body.
I was anxious yesterday; today I just feel as though theyโre able to walk away without a backward glance, leaving the tatters of a country behind them. I feel so sad they wonโt have to answer for what theyโve done.
