Good to see the start of humanitarian assistance, but 20 trucks is a drop in the ocean in relation to the needs. We need to do so much more. Proud that the red cross movement is stepping up. Thank you to the brave volunteers of @EG_Red_Crescent and @PalestineRCS @richarddblewitt
Life saving humanitarian aid has finally crossed the border from Egypt into Gaza with the support of @EG_Red_Crescent and @PalestineRCS It's brings hope, but it's not enough. The needs in Gaza are immense. We need to be able to deliver aid safely and regularly.

Great to meet so many fabulous Red Cross volunteers on the late night shift in Westminster, ready to provide practical & emotional support to anyone feeling distressed walking by the Queen's coffin. Thank you all. Fantastic work. @LisaJaneHollins @mwkillick

With @BritishRedCross we warn about the extremely detrimental impact that fears of deportation, detention and harsh treatment are having on asylum seekers - including distressing reports of people disappearing from hotels and young people self-harming. refugeecouncil.org.uk/latest/news/fe…
Asylum seekers in Britain have already gone into hiding because they fear being removed to Rwanda, a report from immigration charities has said thetimes.co.uk/article/asylum…
Four minutes from me on the UK/Rwanda deal as the UK becomes one of the few countries in the world to try and outsource part of its asylum policy.
Three questions on the government's Rwanda migration deal: ➡️ Why? ➡️ Is it right? ➡️ Will it work? #Newsnight's @Lewis_Goodall explains the facts 👇
It's taken most of the day to get my head around what I think the UK Government is doing regarding removing people to Rwanda who have claimed asylum in the UK, and the interaction (or not) with the Nationality and Borders Bill. But I think it centres around inadmissibility...
Such a shocking proposal. Not only the practical & financial concerns but the human cost of this... We work with young men who have fled awful situations of conflict & persecution to come to the UK and build a safe life. Now what? We send them to Rwanda bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…
