Last night was our last Campus Observatory Night for the semester! As a part of our Undergraduate Introductory Astronomy courses, students are provided the opportunity to visit our campus observatory weekly to view a variety of objects to supplement in-class instruction!

This past week, our grad students hosted an evening of stargazing as part of the Astronomy FRIENDS Mentoring Program! From the rings of Saturn to the cloudy belts of Jupiter, students were able to peer through telescopes, tour the night sky, and interact with our grad mentors!

Last week, #NMSU #Astronomy Dept welcomed local 5th grade students as part of a campus visit to learn about the Solar System! Here, students were able to interact with grad students, view sunspots on the Sun, see models of the planets, and interact with our meteorite collection!
